Ah, it’s that time of year again when tax filing anxiety kicks in. Back when I used to trade, my records were a mess—wallet addresses and transfer memos were all based on memory. Then when I checked the on-chain data, that one anonymous transfer of an aircoin just wouldn’t match up with my books, and I almost ended up paying a big chunk of tax I didn’t owe. Now I’ve learned my lesson and rolled out a version update: early C, late A—coffee in the morning, and in the evening I manually arrange K-line records. I also back up the wallet memo tags, especially anything related to privacy coins and mixers, so I don’t mix them up with ordinary transfers. Besides, the community is arguing about the boundaries of privacy and compliance, and I can’t control that. But at least during tax season, don’t make yourself go crazy. Bottom line: records are a life-saving talisman—don’t wait until an audit to start crying.
