Just looked around at the funding rates, and we’re back at an extreme level. Honestly, it’s tempting to want to open a short and earn the funding rate when others do, but every time like this I remind myself: don’t be the one on the other side of the trade. (At least, I’m not that brave.)

Old players always say, “Don’t catch the last baton.” When funding rates are extreme, whether you go long or short, at its core you’re betting on whether the emotional peak will continue. I’d rather shift my position more toward USDT, wait for the volatility to pass, and then rebalance. In the long run, making a bit less is still better than getting wickedly stabbed.
