Recently, a bunch of PFP projects are doing membership systems again, and they’re also touting the supposed long-term brand value… Honestly, when I look at these events, I just think of the old game platform points system—earning them felt like crazy, and in the end, who doesn’t know in their heart what you can actually exchange for. The testnet incentives are set up like an airdrop rehearsal; whether the mainnet will actually issue tokens has started to feel almost like mysticism. To put it bluntly, these things are basically short-term attention monetization, not much different from the carnival-style prize wheel that you see at night market stalls. I’m more like someone watching for an exit path than someone believing in sustainable consensus. When liquidity isn’t right, this kind of flashy “brand value” can’t even fill in an order on the order book. Quick reminder: first check whether your stack can leave at any time, and then think about whether you should join these social activities.
