I was organizing my wallets a couple of days ago, and the more I sorted them, the more chaotic it got. Multi-chain wallet addresses can pile up into a small database… some are used for interactions, some are temporarily opened just to farm airdrops, and some are just left there because people cba to destroy them. Later, I realized that memorizing everything with my brain just doesn’t work. My current method uses Rabby, which automatically detects the chains, saving me from constantly switching back and forth. I also pair it with Zerion’s dashboard to categorize and view my total assets—I don’t bother tracking the exact numbers; I only look at the distribution ratios.
Honestly, when it comes to managing fragmented assets, what I fear most isn’t the number of addresses—it’s mixing up gas. My habit is to keep a small amount of gas for each chain in that chain’s corresponding “main wallet.” I only put the assets needed for interactions into the other mutually exclusive wallets, so I don’t accidentally burn everyone else’s prizes by misclicking…
Also, lately I’ve been seeing a lot of people discussing modular DA, and the developers seem really excited about it. I’m the kind of person who obsesses over details, and the moment I hear a new concept, I naturally feel anxious—like, I’ll have to learn yet another thing… But when I think it through, if it truly can reduce cross-chain costs, it might actually be a good thing for dealing with asset fragmentation.
There are plenty of tutorials, but right now I only watch the ones that explain how to manually maintain a multi-chain address book. If I can’t be bothered to think, I just jot it down on sticky notes—lazy me is only good for that… In any case, my wallet still occasionally spawns a few unfamiliar NFTs, so I guess I’ll keep clearing them out.
