I’ve really been getting a bit stressed out from farming the play-to-earn pool lately. When rewards are high, everyone rushes in—one or two weeks later, once inflation kicks in, the output gets diluted straight into nothing. The pool’s liquidity gets drained in an instant, leaving a bunch of people who farm “points” cursing and grumbling as they walk away. In plain terms, “what you’re earning is actually the principal other people deposited.” If you play long enough, someone has to be the one to pick up the bag.

Today I saw that another mainstream public chain is going to upgrade and undergo maintenance, and everyone started speculating again about whether ecosystem projects might take the opportunity to migrate. Stop for a moment—don’t rush. I’ve stopped myself recently: I’m not chasing those flashy leaderboard rankings anymore, and I’m not farming those pools either where the daily active numbers look great but the real output is about to collapse. After all, when it burns your hands, the fire goes out just as fast. Better to wait and squat for a bit, and then see when the next round of campfires gets lit again.
