Recently, I’ve been going back and forth between Layer 2 and the mainnet, and honestly, I’m pretty torn. Mainnet Gas is genuinely expensive—really expensive—but some interactive experiences are indeed solid, like an old friend who doesn’t pull any tricks. Layer 2 is cheaper, but sometimes it lags, cross-chain is a hassle, and there are also those “snipper” bots—basically, it’s just getting harvested in a different place. I usually leave big-ticket transactions on the mainnet, and toss small operations—or boring interactions—onto Layer 2. In the end, I’m just saving a bit of pocket money.

My colleague asked why I always keep circling Layer 2. I laughed and said, “I got used to it being cheap—I can’t go back.” Recently, the staking-unlock and token-unlock calendars have been brought up again and again, and everyone’s a little anxious. I panicked too at first, but then I figured it out: sell-pressure anxiety is like Gas—it’s basically just noise within the cycle. What really matters is the essence of on-chain activity. Don’t rush—have a cup of tea, take your time, and choose slowly.
