To be honest, I used to think tax filings were pretty far from me—until the end of last year, when my reconciliation almost made Excel crash. Now I’ve learned: for every exchange, I save in my local CSV the wallet addresses, deposit/withdrawal records, and fees. At month-end, I manually run through the profit and loss, then dump it into a Google Sheet with the dates and on-chain hashes marked. Don’t rely only on the exchange’s export reports—sometimes they even lose their own data. Lately there’s been a lot of compliance-related news here, and during withdrawals my mental expectations have been tighter. Keeping the original records gives me at least some peace of mind. What tools do you all use to organize things? Or are you still too lazy to calculate and plan to panic at year-end? Anyway, I handled it early this time, and I feel lighter mentally.
