Lately I’ve been messing around with nodes and RPCs, and I found something quite interesting: what you see as “on-chain” might not actually be truly “on-chain.” For example, when I run my own node, if the sync is a bit slow, or if a certain RPC call has high latency, then the “instant” data you see can lag for quite a while. Put simply, the balance and transaction status you’re seeing might just be what an indexer tells you, not what the chain is producing in real time. So whenever I see others shouting “big positive catalyst” or “big negative catalyst,” my first reaction is: check whether my own node has missed any blocks.

In this situation, lately everyone has been talking about staking unlocks and the token unlock calendar, and the anxiety about potential sell pressure. I’m actually more afraid of something than a price drop—I’m afraid the data I’m seeing is already “yesterday’s headline,” and then I end up making decisions by following the crowd. Anyway, now I test RPCs myself, pick a few that are reliable, and don’t blindly trust a single source. Information gaps sometimes come down to who sees the real data first, not who shouts the order first.

I actually feel the most terrifying thing isn’t missing a chance—it’s missing the patience to get to the truth.
