Recently I muted the trading group. Honestly, at the beginning it felt a bit strange—I kept wanting to open it to see whether anyone was calling trades or discussing some big on-chain order on a particular chain. But after two days of silence, I suddenly felt my ears were at peace, and my mind was a little clearer.

As for those MEV “cut-in line” issues on-chain, to put it bluntly, it’s because someone else understands the rules better and can get in one step ahead of you. I used to think that was pretty unfair, but then I realized: anyway, my orders are based on a market-maker mindset—depth and slippage are basically my practice. Those front-running trades affect people who chase pumps and dumps; they don’t really have much to do with my order-posting strategy.

Speaking of which, the whole recent NFT royalty issue is the same too. Creators and traders argue back and forth—if royalties are higher, liquidity drops; if royalties are lower, creators end up feeling uncomfortable again. But for someone like me who only focuses on depth, it feels like the market is adjusting itself, and there’s no point being annoyed. In any case, I’m just going to stay calm and watch my own orders, occasionally look at the depth charts. As for the lively chatter in the group, it’s fine not to look.
