Social mining is the same too: you follow each other to farm points, you spend half the day grinding, then you find the cost is higher than the returns. Is attention really mining? I think it’s attention = fees—just renamed so it hurts less.

I’m more like the person roasting their hands by the campfire and accidentally singeing their own cuffs, not some arbitrage bot hiding in the dark calculating gas—though sometimes I envy how accurately they can calculate. But forget it; at least I can still smell the barbecue.
