Just now I was reorganizing my wallets and found myself sitting on five or six chains—each with a few clumps of leftover gas and a bunch of airdrop scraps. 😂 used to think multi-chain was the future, but now I think multi-chain is basically creating household chores for myself. All the management is done with Excel and a notes app; if my memory is just a little off, I might forget which wallet still has a few dollars’ worth of assets that haven’t been moved out.
To be honest, sometimes I watch the arguments in the group about the compliance boundaries for privacy coins and mixers. They get pretty heated. I personally feel that no matter how the technology evolves, it’s more important to sort out your own assets first than anything else. Otherwise, one day something happens on-chain, and you won’t even be able to figure out where your money is hiding in some corner.
Anyway, my approach now is: if it can be consolidated, consolidate it; unless it’s necessary, don’t open a new wallet. Move slower and have less—turns out it’s actually more worry-free. After all, for people who react slowly, the priority is to fill the holes around them first.
