I just came across an NFT project team arguing about royalties again. The secondary market is already siphoning off profits—otherwise it would starve creators to death—and they’re still doing “cold thinking.” To put it plainly, royalties on-chain are basically a false premise—can the technology really enforce them? It’s still all about whitelists and blacklists, just like how we used to collect protection money when we were kids. Even funnier: someone in the group just shared a joke about a stablecoin depegging, and then right away they start praising the “creator economy” as great—emotion switches faster than MEV front-running. I’m saying: why not first take care of those reserve audits that nobody even bothers to look at, and then talk about “royalty justice.” Anyway, I write jokes and don’t collect royalties—if the gas is high, I’ll just treat it as “inspiration exhaustion,” so I don’t have to bicker with these people.
