Just saw the group arguing again about privacy coins and mixers. The compliance boundary for that stuff really is blurry. But what I want to talk about today isn’t that.

When the mempool is congested, sending a transaction feels pretty much like lining up to buy milk tea. If you set a high gas, your transaction cuts in line, and everyone ahead has to keep waiting. But the most annoying part is when you clearly set enough gas, yet due to network fluctuations or something else, the transaction just gets stuck and won’t move. It sits there as pending—making you anxious and furious.

I once got burned when I went into a shitcoin. Back then, the chain was in chaos. I watched gas spike higher and higher, hesitated for a moment, and didn’t bother to adjust. Result: my transaction got stuck for two whole days before it was finally packaged. By that time, the coin price had already taken off.

So now my rule is simple: either pay enough to get included, or don’t send. I don’t chase and I don’t fight through congestion. In plain terms, it’s not worth obsessing over a few cents’ worth of gas—better to wait until the network is smooth again. There are plenty of opportunities anyway, so no need to fight robots for position in the mempool.

As for the privacy coin drama—honestly, I think the tools themselves aren’t right or wrong; it depends on how you use them. But the split in the community really is exhausting. That’s it for now—I’m going to check whether my pending transaction has gone through…
