Honestly, when I’ve been looking at those yield aggregators lately, the APY charts are one higher than the other, and the data looks like it’s maxed out—it’s really tempting. But once you open the contracts, you usually find the underlying logic is basically just that—either it’s a matryoshka (nested setup), or there’s an “owner” hidden in the contract who can change the strategist anytime. In plain terms, you’re just betting that the counterparty won’t do anything malicious. I’ve already suffered once. Back then, I chased a high APY, and the contract had a “pause” permission—then everything was frozen in an instant. I was so mad I slammed the table.

Now when I pick an aggregator, the first thing I do is check the contract permissions and the transparency of the routing design. I’d rather have a slightly lower APY than wake up one day to find my money has been transferred away.

Social mining and fan tokens have also been pretty hot recently. People say “attention is mining,” but honestly, it still feels like it’s basically trading chips for time—the fan token’s price fluctuations depend entirely on the project team’s mood and the big names’ faces. I tried a few, and what I found was that the community talk is lively, but there really aren’t many who are actually “mining.” The big names themselves tend to leave first. Anyway, I don’t really buy into this. Even if you concentrate your attention, you can’t beat the landmines buried in the contract.

LOL—sometimes I think about it: you see those big V’s doing product endorsements, fans charging in behind them, and then one day you look back and the token price has halved, and they’re still yelling about “faith.” It’s both funny and a bit infuriating. But there’s no way—this is what web3 is like: the information gap is always there. I’ll just stay out of it for now and move only after I’ve figured things out.
