Just saw a guy in the group going berserk spamming that a certain project has a snapshot, but he hasn’t received an air drop in his wallet. I helped him check it—on-chain transactions were actually sent a long time ago; it’s just that his node hadn’t updated… In short, on-chain data doesn’t equal the real-time data you see in your wallet. More than once, I rushed into mint and got front-run because I used a niche RPC—by the time my tx finished getting through (while it was pending), the floor price had already moved. It feels like those public chain nodes are like a stall owner at a roadside eatery: after you place your order, they jot it down on a little blackboard—if you stare at it you can see it, but when it’s your turn and they didn’t make it, then it’s just not made. Recently, the audit report floating around the group about people swapping into stablecoins—first they circulated “de-peg” screenshots and scared a bunch of people. I looked at the contract balance and circulating supply and it was actually fine; the difference is caused by chain scanning delays, plus everyone using custom nodes, so people see different things. Anyway, now I’m running my own fast node too—gas is still paid as usual, but at least I can avoid getting caught in the early-bird traps a few times. Over there, there are also people who used this to see the audit announcement a minute early and then directly went bargain hunting… I feel like this is another kind of “breakfast delivered but you woke up late.”
