To put it bluntly, the “on-chain” truth you see really depends on which RPC you’re connected to—some nodes lag by half a beat, and some indexers even swallow the transaction. Don’t talk about regular users; when I’m watching the order book depth, I often see certain addresses sweeping funds, and only after a few seconds do they show up on a public RPC. So don’t trust “real-time data”—it’s all curated by someone else.

It sounds lively, but think about it: the on-chain data you’re watching may already be a few seconds slower than what others see. Can your little bit of attention really mine anything? Put it another way—if even the underlying data is delayed, even if you concentrate your attention, you’re still easy to get taken advantage of. Anyway, when I cancel and resubmit orders in rainy weather, what I fear most is this kind of “information time lag.” I’d rather wait a bit longer than chase things randomly.
