Every night in the middle of the night, as usual, I take a glance at the liquidation line and see a few lending positions that are less than three steps away from the red line, which makes me a bit nervous on behalf of the people involved. To be honest, that on-chain liquidation moment is really fast—there’s no time to worry about gas; it just yanks the plug and you’re disconnected. My own approach is: the moment I notice my position is only three or four percentage points away from the red line, I manually reduce leverage, or I first transfer some stablecoins to keep as a buffer—so I won’t end up flustered and rushing around later. In any case, don’t always count on being able to hold out to the very last second; sometimes taking one extra step is another layer of protection.
Recently, there’s been a lot of criticism about MEV and ordering fairness. And yes, some transactions are basically running ahead like it’s a show—retail users near the liquidation line are practically handing out free kills. As for me, whenever I see an abnormal transfer while scrolling through things in the middle of the night, I’ll keep a closer eye on it—like I’m following a drama. People who don’t get it might think I’m overly cautious, but if you’ve been around on-chain long enough, you’ll know: if you don’t think one step ahead about certain things, then you can only wait for someone else to think for you.
