I muted the group chat, and the world suddenly feels a lot quieter.

In the past, I always worried that I might miss something—I’d get up in the middle of the night to check group messages. The more I watched, the more my hands itched; I always wanted to rush in. But honestly, a lot of the time I couldn’t even tell whether it was information pushing positions, or emotions pushing positions. After I muted it, I could actually ask myself one question: what exactly is this asset doing? Data usability? Modular components? Or is it just other people shouting?

Recently, I’ve been watching all those memes and celebrity trade calls. Veteran players keep advising newcomers not to take the last step. To be honest, whether you take it or not isn’t the point—the key is whether you can figure out which “leg” of the relay it is. Anyway, for now, I’ll keep the group muted so my mind can think clearly first, and then I’ll decide whether I’ll start itching to jump in.
