Just stared at the gas fees on a cross-chain bridge, daydreaming. The concept of modular blockchains has been quite popular lately, but honestly, for regular users like us, it doesn’t seem like anything truly earth-shattering has changed. Should we use a cross-chain bridge or not? Should we worry about liquidity being drained, or worry about…? But I heard that splitting execution, consensus, and data availability into separate layers can, in theory, reduce the risk of a single chain having problems that end up dragging the whole ecosystem down. Anyway, as someone who uses cross-chain bridges all the time, what I fear most is a bridge suddenly getting drained, or a module spawning bugs one after another that lock up funds. Lately, the whole wave of staking unlocks has been causing anxiety about selling pressure—every day in the group people post token unlock calendars, and it’s pretty nerve-wracking. I don’t even know whether modularization can make these liquidity shocks more transparent. Forget it—let’s just leave it at that. I’ll keep manually picking routes, and I won’t pay attention to those flashy RAAS promos—safety first. If the fees are higher, then so be it.
