Just looked at the on-chain data and spotted a transfer—the gas fee was ridiculously high, and the timing was set about ten minutes before a certain project’s unlock. In the comments, a bunch of people were shouting “mouse-trading” and “inside information.” My first reaction was also a little sour, because honestly, who wouldn’t want to know the news ahead of time?

But if you pull the address back a few days, it turns out that money actually came out of a contract address that interacts frequently. It had also carried out similar operations around the same time window before. Put plainly, it’s most likely a large holder rebalancing, hedging, or just lining things up in advance to be in position before a period when liquidity is high. The more coincidences there are, the more logic you can piece together.

Lately everyone’s been talking about the anxiety over sell pressure from staking unlocks. I’ll admit, I’m also pretty envious of people who can hit the timing precisely. But for me, I’m still more used to splitting my orders into a few batches and placing them gradually. Anyway, time trades for space—you can’t rush it.
