Sometimes the mempool gets so clogged that I really want to curse at people... Just now, a transaction got stuck for almost twenty minutes. Watching the gas keep climbing, I even started to wonder if I’d been played. 😅
Speaking of which, not long ago I saw a contract call that was really strange: a bunch of users were all scrambling to cram money into the same address in the same block. Later I found out it was a bug in a certain cross-chain bridge—the oracle’s pricing was off, and everyone panicked while they were all stuck in “waiting for confirmation.” Anyway, after that, I learned my lesson: the more you’re in a rush, the easier it is to get jammed. Better to slow down first, then observe the average queue time for similar transactions.
Back to the congestion experience—waiting in the mempool is really like squeezing onto a bus during the morning rush. You think getting on first means you’ve won, but halfway through you get overtaken by other people with higher-gas “cut-ins.” Sometimes, if you’re lucky, when your transaction finally lands you can catch an address repeatedly failing in the same block. That feeling—somehow it just gives you a reassuring “I’ve been there too.” Forget it, that’s just how it is on-chain. No one’s money just blows in from the wind, but sometimes you really do have to grind it out with patience.
