Just spotted a whale address quietly building up a position on-chain. On closer inspection, though, it wasn’t really “buying”—it was a CEX hedge position that got transferred over. Before you copy-trade, if you don’t check the on-chain timestamps and the pool depth, you’re basically just serving someone “free target practice.” Lately, the ETF money flow has been spun by various major influencers as a “signal that institutions are bottom-buying,” but once the U.S. stock market dips, crypto just follows suit—these two were already tied to the same rope. Don’t get all worked up just because you see a large transfer; first figure out whether it’s position-building or hedging—otherwise you’ll waste gas fees for nothing. Gone—revoke the authorization first.
