To be honest, every time it’s near the end of the year and I have to review transaction records, it really gives me a headache. This year I made a rule: every Friday, I just randomly attach a screenshot—of the trades opened that week and the settlement records—and drop them into a folder in Baidu Cloud. I can’t even be bothered to write notes. On the one hand, the on-chain data can’t run away, and exchange transaction history can also be exported, but when it actually comes time to file taxes, flipping through piles of screenshots still makes me want to curse.
Lately I’ve been watching the lively shouts of celebrity trade calls. The old-timers advise newcomers not to take the last baton, but I think the money you lose is your own. Being diligent about keeping records at least helps you figure things out clearly—like last year for me: I didn’t realize until I was already losing that the fees could offset a pretty sizable amount of spending.
