Academician Zheng Weimin of the Chinese Academy of Engineering: In the agent era, the ability to produce stable and low-cost Token (word tokens) is extremely scarce

Jinse Finance reported that on July 19, Chinese Academy of Engineering academician and Tsinghua University professor in the Department of Computer Science and Technology Zheng Weimin said at the Agentic Era AI Infrastructure Innovation and Development Forum that the rapid expansion of computing power scale does not equate to the production capacity of efficient Tokens (token units). In the age of agents, what is truly scarce is not only chips, but also system capabilities that can stably produce Tokens at low cost with high grade. Tokens are shifting from technical indicators to becoming a core production input for the industry, and inference systems are moving from single-machine optimization to distributed, cache-enabled, heterogeneous, and service-oriented development.
