To be honest, I used to look down on people who spend all day watching big transfers on-chain and anomalies between hot and cold wallets. I always felt it was “smart money” superstition—whoever moves tens of thousands of USDT and everyone gets excited for half a day, like stock traders tracking the main force. As for me, I just like to read emotions, to gauge the community vibe—I feel that’s the real lifeblood.
But lately, a few DAO votes have made me rethink. On the surface, a proposal is about “adjusting incentive ratios,” but behind the scenes, it could be several lines of interests quietly competing. If you look at the vote distribution, those addresses with large holdings: some lock their funds so tightly they don’t move, others suddenly activate, and their voting direction even follows a hidden clause in the proposal. It’s pretty interesting—on-chain data looks like stained glass; once you shine light on it, the patterns show up.
Now I’m less stubborn. I look at both on-chain signals and sentiment. Anyway, the key isn’t “only what to look at,” but whether you can understand the incentive structure hidden in the proposal. After all, governance isn’t just code—it’s also a story.
