🌐 Zcash launches a new node to scale up to 50,000 transactions per second
Zcash has introduced the Zakura client — the first component of a network scaling plan under Project Tachyon and the NU7 upgrade. The goal is to move from roughly one private transaction per second to the level of payment networks like Visa (50,000 TPS).
Zakura is a new node implementation focused on the performance of shielded (fully private) transactions. Against the backdrop of the announcement, it’s worth noting the context: ZEC has fallen 48% in price, and a vulnerability was recently discovered in the network.
