Just finished voting on a proposal on Dework, and after I submitted my vote I took a glance at the DAO governance comments next to it… wow, you’re all arguing about whether you should bind identity badges to social mining points. Honestly, lately I’ve been more and more unwilling to grind through these badges—checking in and completing tasks every day just to get a silver badge, basically like going to work. And it’s the same with a lot of projects: they hand out a bunch of badges, but when it’s time to discuss real business, that whole string of tags under people’s avatars just becomes decoration.
I still feel that identity is more about whether what you say makes sense, how you handle disagreements when they come up, and whether you can communicate in a way that sounds like you’re “one of us”—more than just putting a few badges on display. When it comes to security: haven’t hardware wallets been out of stock everywhere lately? I don’t know how many people are truly hoarding hardware, or whether they’re just chasing hype to抢. For my part, the other day I just used a phone transfer app (with a hardware key) to send a transaction, and while I was at it I clicked open a phishing-link demo that a group friend had forwarded to practice 😂. What about you—have you been checking out any weird points programs lately?
