Just checked out some PFP project—it claims it wants to set up a virtual land membership club… It even has a DAO called “Afterparty”… I can’t—this name somehow totally collided with mine too.

Anyway, these days with NFTs, whether it’s membership cards or branding—let’s be real, it’s just a different way of pulling in new people. Get a bit of heat in the short term, push up the floor price, and then everyone plays it their own way. For the long run, though? Who really believes that stuff will have staying power? I, for one, trust the data more—data decides: when royalties drop, secondary liquidity does improve, but creators still have it rough—so, in plain terms, it’s a battle between whales and retail, and nobody’s pretending.

That said, community vibe really matters. Some projects have a whole group of people shouting “holder hodl” every day, but they can’t even put together a decent recap meeting. I’m the kind of person who’s socially outgoing, so every now and then I’ll swing by the project team to “freeload” on a bit of the atmosphere, and, as a bonus, complain that their meetings are way too long… But if we’re talking long-term, based on how I feel right now, it still comes down to whether the team can actually deliver.

Forget it—this topic feels like it could turn into a whole paper. I’ll stop here. My intuition tells me not to get involved, and the data also tells me not to get involved (lol).
