Abstract generation in progress
Mars Finance news: Zcash has launched a new full node, Zakura, maintained by a team independent of the Zcash Foundation. It is released as a fast-sync trimmed branch of Zebra and is compatible with older zcashd clients. The client will be retired at the end of its lifecycle. Zakura is one of the components of Zcash’s scaling work, working together with Project Tachyon and research on private information retrieval. The goal is to increase network throughput to Visa and Mastercard levels by shrinking the amount of verification data and eliminating wallet performance bottlenecks. Zakura also supports the Ironwood (NU6.3) upgrade, scheduled to be activated on July 28. This upgrade introduces a turnstile mechanism to limit withdrawals from the Orchard shielded pool and to control potentially forged ZEC that could be generated by a long-term soundness bug.
