When the testnet points thing first came out, everyone treated it like a “practice match”—click around casually, and just try to get a bit of airdrop expectation. But lately, a few friends around me have started calculating Gas seriously and timing when to interact. They even post to study which L2’s points carry higher weights… and I just feel like something’s a little off.

To put it plainly, once practice turns into expectation, people’s mindset can easily get distorted. I saw a guy streaming testing a protocol recently, and in the end he joked to himself: “I originally wanted to make some peak reputation, but I lost three times on gas.” I also have to remind myself: look back at that whole phase of celebrity calls. Veteran players advise newcomers not to take the last baton—and the same logic applies on the points leaderboard. With attention shifting so fast, it’s definitely not impossible to spend a lot of money doing all that, only for the team to suddenly change the rules or for the points to get devalued.

For now, that’s it. I’ll set a psychological stop-loss for myself: the gas and time I put in, I’ll treat it like buying a game ticket at most. If I lose, I’ll just consider it as watching on-chain scenery.
