One of my fan brothers follows my train of thought. He keeps making steady profits every month. But yesterday he DM’d me: “I lost terribly again!”

I asked him what happened. He said: “Bro, I just can’t control my hands. When it goes up, I want to rush in. When it drops, I want to bail myself out. The more I trade, the more chaotic it gets…”
I replied with one sentence: “You’re not the first, and you won’t be the last!”
After you’ve been in the crypto space for a while, you’ll understand that what truly destroys someone is never the market—it's the three ghosts in their heart.
The first ghost: wanting to grab everything
You always feel like every wave of the market should belong to you. Missing one makes you feel like you’ve lost a few hundred million. You’re restless, can’t sleep.
But the market isn’t your partner. The more frantic you are, the less it will give you.
The second ghost: seeking revenge after a loss
After one trade blows up, your brain hasn’t even cooled down and your hand already clicks in.
You silently tell yourself: “I’ll win it back and then leave.”
So what happens? In most cases, you end up losing not just that trade—your principal too. You “save” it deeper and deeper.
The third ghost: getting arrogant after making a little
After landing two or three trades, you start thinking you’re a god. Everyone else looks like a bunch of suckers.
“Isn’t this market just like that?”
Actually, it’s just the trend handing you a free bite to eat. It has nothing to do with your skills.
I used to be the same. I thought trading depended on courage, on ruthlessness, on being well-informed.
After the market educated me over and over, I finally saw clearly:
Real courage is being able to stay put when you should be in cash, being able to cut losses when you should admit you’re wrong. And when everyone else is charging like crazy, you still dare to stand still.
The first lesson the market taught me was losing money. The second was to shut up. The third was to battle myself to the death.
Now I only trust one saying: the market never favors the smart—it only favors the patient.
You can understand it, but don’t rush to act;
You can hold, but don’t get arrogant;
You can afford losses, but don’t get reckless;
You can wait, but don’t panic.
If you can do these, then you’re truly in the game.
At what moment did you suddenly wake up—realizing that what you lose in trading is never the money, it’s your own heart?
