Jin Yong’s novels rarely indulge in lyricism, but the moment he starts writing, everything turns into a masterpiece.
The ending of *The Return of the Condor Heroes*: “At that time, the bright moon was in the sky; a clear breeze blew and stirred the leaves; above the treetops, black crows—ah, ah—cried out. Guo Xiang could no longer restrain herself, and tears spilled out of her eyes.”
It’s quite similar to a line in *Water Margin* that I like. When Wu Song walked at night and passed Wugong Ridge, there was a passage: “When Wu Xingzhe stood at the edge of the ridge to look, he saw the moon rising from the east, shining so that the grass and trees on the ridge glowed with brilliance.”
I truly love beautiful writing and exciting stories.
