Don’t believe that “when you get old, you can finally enjoy life.” The toys I wanted at 5, the games I wanted to play at 10, the girl I liked at 20, and the BMW 5 Series I wanted at 25—now that I’m past 30, none of it is something I want anymore. When we get old, we’ll just sit there and stare blankly; we won’t be able to walk, we won’t be able to eat, we won’t be able to play. We’ll be full of illness, like a turtle barely clinging to life—slow at everything, and doing everything as if we have to be extra careful. So is it possible that aging means only suffering, with no blessings to enjoy? Look at today’s elderly people.

So is it possible? Life’s main mission was supposed to be to enjoy it, to be happy—not to endure hardship. Do you only suffer hardship when you have no choice? So is it possible? Being tough and enduring hardships in essence is wasting your time, while eating, drinking, and having fun is what it means to enjoy life.
