About gatekeeping in the Kenyan crypto space. This is my honest observation.

This is a topic I see on the timeline every single day and honestly, I used to think the same too.
What I have come to realize lately is that we have a serious issue with the community at large.
Information doesn’t reach everyone and I would attribute this to the distribution channels.
As an individual, it’s your responsibility to join a active community because that's the only way to get access to information today
I took time to understand why people complain about this same gatekeeping issue and it all revolves around:
- Jobs and gigs
- Grants
- Events
Of course, when you narrow down to each, you will realize that there are people with more advantage than others, (probably they joined earlier, more networked or just holding bigger positions )
Now one thing still stands out, you won't get access to any events if you don’t belong to the communities where those events are shared.
You also won't get a job/ gig from an ecosystem led by XX if you and XX don’t interact at a personal level.
About grants, you can fight about that to whatever level you can, Idc honestly.
All I'm saying is, this is an open space not a charity organization where random strangers bring opportunities to your doorstep. ( sorry for the harsh tone)
Something else, we do not have enough public communities where users can belong to. They are all concentrated in WhatsApp groups and private TG gcs.
Information won't always be on X and that's absolutely Okay.
This field is too diverse to be gatekept. If you don't get a job or a grant like me, then why can't you just focus on trading? Or you still want to gatekeep that from yourself?
Anyway, moving foward, I will try to highlight some of the active communities you can join as a user and grow in.
