I just saw discussions about IBC cross-chain security, and honestly I never thought about it in detail before. For a single cross-chain, the number of components you need to trust is pretty large—validator sets, light clients, relayers, and that chain’s own consensus mechanism. In plain terms, you have to believe that none of these steps fails; otherwise, your assets are basically in limbo. Recently, the restaking “game” has been questioned by a lot of people as a kind of “matryoshka doll”: the returns look like they stack up, but the risks stack up too, layer by layer. I personally think the most important thing is being able to sleep at night.

What I’ve learned isn’t a technique—it’s that the longer the trust chain, the less confident you feel. It’s good enough to stick to and protect the parts you can understand.
