Sigh, the latest airdrop season is here again. The points-based system has make “farmers” behaving like office workers—so competitive it’s ridiculous. Once anti-sybil rules get strict, a lot of people say, “privacy is gone,” but honestly, on-chain was never a place that’s completely anonymous.

I usually study cross-chain routing. Sometimes, to save a bit on gas fees, I’ll route through some privacy layers or mixers, but I’m also clear that the compliance boundaries are getting increasingly blurry. For most regular users, what they really want is simple: don’t get targeted, don’t get mistakenly harmed, and don’t get randomly flagged. But the reality is: the more you care about privacy, the more likely you are to be suspected.

Anyway, my own approach is: use privacy tools when you need them, but don’t expect them to keep you safe for a lifetime. On-chain data is public—that much I accept. The rest is just being careful. I hope that one day there will be a more human-friendly balance, so users don’t have to spend every day caught between “privacy” and “compliance,” like a sandwich filling.
