I came across a post about sandwich attacks, and it reminded me of the time I was a “bread slice” 😂 for a while. When I first started playing on-chain, I watched other people arbitrage and make money like crazy, and I couldn’t help but get itchy and jump in too. In the end, I didn’t make any money—I got squeezed to death. All the fees went to bots and miners. If I’d understood a little about the ins and outs of arbitrage back then—like checking how long it takes for gas to get a block, or learning to use private transaction pools—I probably wouldn’t have ended up being a sucker.

Looking back now, those arbitrage opportunities look enticing, but in reality they’re someone else’s fee-fueled celebration. There have been many examples recently of people getting rich overnight with memes, but old players always warn newcomers not to take the last step. Sure enough, once attention rotates, the person who takes the baton may not even be able to earn back the transaction fees.

Anyway, I’m pretty curious—next time, can you use a pixel mini-theater to draw out this kind of “squeeze”? After watching too much on-chain data, I always feel like I’m a walking sucker, but at least I’m able to have a good laugh and keep things fun.
