These phishing pop-ups are getting more and more convincing—one moment of being distracted and you’re caught. That’s how I am: I wander around aimlessly on lesser-known chains. My assets aren’t huge, but they’re scattered all over—so I really can’t afford to be careless with security.

Hardware wallets, multisig, and social recovery—put simply, it’s all about whether the little you have in your wallet is worth all the hassle. If it’s under “a few tens of thousands,” mainstream hardware wallets are basically good enough; just keep the seed phrase handwritten and stored safely. But if you’re like me—digging for air drops on a few not-that-well-known L2s for half a year, and your assets are spread across a dozen-plus addresses—then you should think about multisig or social recovery, because losing one private key is like losing a whole year’s worth of miner fees. I’ve been testing a smart wallet with social recovery lately: set a few trusted contacts, and if you lose your phone, you can still restore access through them—more flexible than keeping everything in a cold wallet.

By the way, I’ve also been seeing everyone discuss RWA and U.S. Treasury yield recently. On-chain stablecoin interest products are way more attractive than traditional wealth management, but oddly, these protocols often come with cross-chain bridges or brand-new contracts. If there’s a vulnerability, the little bit of U in your wallet really can turn into “air” in the form of U.S. Treasuries. So that’s what I’ve been doing lately: for wallets used for high-frequency activity, I keep only small amounts; for my main holdings, I either isolate them with a hardware setup or use multisig. Anyway, don’t dismiss the extra trouble.
