Have you ever run into this kind of situation—where the data on the interface suddenly freezes, or the on-chain balance shows incorrectly, and then, after a few minutes, it fixes itself? Anyway, my first reaction isn’t that the network is “blowing up.” Instead, I think, “Did the RPC get rate-limited again?” Especially for cross-chain bridges—if the data glitches for a moment, I immediately suspect the index hasn’t caught up. Subgraph synchronization can get absurdly slow, and it makes you feel uneasy.

To be frank, most “brief freezing” isn’t really a big problem. It’s usually that the node can’t handle the load, or that the subgraph update is delayed. There are tons of tutorials teaching you how to set up your own indexer and tweak parameters, but for ordinary users like us, the simplest solution is to switch to another node or use a public RPC from an archive node. At least then you’re less likely to get blocked for too many requests. I’m fairly lazy, but when it comes to key operations, I’ll open a browser and check the data on Etherscan first—otherwise I just don’t feel safe.

Recently, the funding rate stuff has been pretty interesting too. It swings to extreme values out of nowhere, and the community is arguing about whether there’s about to be a reversal. I personally don’t understand it, but when the data freezes and you then look at these discussions, you end up feeling even more nervous. Forget it—I’ll just make extra preparations and put verification work ahead of time.
