Will the World Cup final be postponed?

Due to wildfires in Canada, the air quality at the World Cup final venue in New York has been steadily worsening.
On July 19, it is expected that 80,000 people will watch the match at the New York-New Jersey stadium, and another 50,000 are expected to watch the game live from Manhattan’s Central Park.
But now Manhattan’s skyline is shrouded in thick gray smog, and people on the streets are wearing masks again.
Local authorities in the United States have already issued air pollution alerts, advising people to reduce outdoor activities and take additional protective measures, especially those with respiratory system illnesses.
To be honest, North America’s wildfire firefighting capability really is too poor—after a wildfire broke out in Los Angeles in 2025, it burned for nearly a month, and many celebrities’ mansions were burned down as well.
Hope Canada can step up and put out the wildfires as soon as possible.
