Xpeng is preparing to launch its humanoid robot IRON on the global market.

Chinese company XPeng has launched mass production of the humanoid robot IRON.
Using automotive assembly lines, XPeng plans to significantly cut the cost of producing humanoids, viewing this market as a multi-trillion opportunity beyond its automotive business.
The IRON robot is designed to work at XPeng’s “smart” factories, provide customer service in auto showrooms, and be used in the field of physical artificial intelligence.
It stands 178 cm tall, weighs 70 kg, and is powered by fully solid-state batteries. The model features “physical AI” developed based on technologies from electric vehicle autopilot systems.
The model has 82 degrees of freedom, bionic muscles, flexible artificial skin, and offers customization options for the floor and body build.
In the first quarter of 2027, the robots will be deployed as consultants in showrooms for the brand across China.
By the end of this year, XPeng plans to produce more than 1,000 IRON robots per month. The launch into the global market is scheduled for 2027.
