On July 16, the U.S. Senate unanimously adopted a non-binding resolution on Wednesday calling against any presidential pardon or reduction of punishment for Sam Bankman-Fried.
Bankman-Fried was convicted in 2023 on seven counts related to a fraud case involving more than $8 billion from FTX customers, and is currently serving his sentence, with an expected release around 2044.
The resolution, initiated by Senators Lummis and Gallego, was adopted without objection after Bankman-Fried requested a pardon.
Trump previously pardoned Changpeng Zhao and Ubulich and publicly said he would not help Bankman-Fried. Despite this, the resolution was still approved.

The market is not expected to react significantly to this case.
This move highlights bipartisan skepticism toward one of the most high-profile fraud cases in the cryptocurrency sector amid ongoing regulatory scrutiny.
