According to a statement from the Ministry of Emergency Management, on July 11, due to expected heavy rainfall, China launched a nationwide Level 4 geological disaster emergency response in Tianjin, Liaoning, and Jilin. The China Meteorological Administration predicts that Typhoon Barvei and the southwest monsoon system will overlap, bringing heavy rain to northern and northeastern China before July 13, with extremely heavy rainfall expected in some areas of Tianjin, Liaoning, and Jilin. Previously, relevant departments, together with the Ministry of Natural Resources, jointly assessed that these three regions face a relatively high risk of geological disasters.
