GPT-6 reportedly switches to a larger base to benchmark against Fable 5.1, DeepSeek V4 GA, or even beyond GLM
CoinWorld reports that Leo leaked that GPT-5.6 will be the last generation of the 5.x series, and that GPT-6 is expected to be released in about a month, possibly earlier. GPT-6 will be built on an entirely new, larger foundation, and will no longer use Spud (about 4T parameters). There is excitement within OpenAI about the new foundation, with the aim of taking on Anthropic’s Fable 5/5.1. DeepSeek will roll out V4 GA, or alternatively target GLM-5.2, and is developing a larger model to counter Minimax’s 27 billion billion-parameter Pro/M3 Pro.
