From human overseers to full automation, these four evolutionary paths really nail the paradigm of AI programming—especially the step of relinquishing prompt rights, which is the true liberation.

Farewell to Prompt Foreman: The Claude Code Team Advocates a Shift to a “Programming Self-Loop” System Design
The Claude Code team has released a guide for agentic self-looping workflows. It defines self-looping as repeatedly executing work cycles until a stopping condition is met, highlighting that autonomous looping is at the core of efficient AI programming. The guide is divided into four stages: round-based looping hands over inspection authority via quantitative checks in skill.md; goal-based looping hands over stopping-decision authority via /goal and metrics such as success rate; time-based looping hands over triggering authority via /loop or /schedule; active looping combines dynamic workflows to achieve full automation. It also recommends introducing a second agent for independent auditing to eliminate reasoning bias. In addition, token cost management requires precisely setting stopping conditions and running pilots before scaling up.
