The attacker stole $21.2 million through a governance proposal, making a profit of $16.8 million.
CoinWorld news: the on-chain monitoring platform Lookonchain reported that an attacker spent $4.4 million to steal $21.2 million from the treasury, earning a profit of $16.8 million. On June 30, the attacker submitted a governance proposal to transfer 4.426 trillion $BONK (worth $21.2 million) from the treasury to a wallet he controlled. Over the past two days, he used $4.4 million to buy 8822.85 billion $BONK, enough to exceed the 879.95 billion $BONK quorum required by the proposal. He then used all 8822.85 billion $BONK to vote “Yes.” The proposal passed, and 4.426 trillion $BONK (worth $21.2 million) were automatically transferred to his wallet. Currently, 400 billion $BONK (worth $188k) have been deposited, while the remaining 4.386 trillion $BONK (worth $19.30 million).
