Last night, while flipping through royalty data, I accidentally deleted a column by mistake. After restoring it, I realized I almost swapped the royalty cut ratios for Blur and OpenSea... that was a close call.
To be honest, talking about royalties now feels awkward. Project teams claim they're starving, buyers think they can bypass the system anyway, and platforms are stuck playing the bad guys in the middle. I previously made a table comparing the "optional royalty" strategies of x2y2, Blur, and Magic Eden. The more I filled it out, the more it felt like Treasury yields — looks like there's a number, but what you actually get depends entirely on market sentiment at the moment.
The RWA crowd is now playing the same game, hyping on-chain yield products to the moon, but the underlying logic is the same as royalties: the promised return ≠ what you actually pocket. Anyway, my table is still being updated, so I'll leave it at that for now.
