Tim Draper is a well-known venture capitalist. In 2014, he purchased approximately 29,656 BTC through a U.S. Marshals Service auction (these are assets confiscated from Silk Road). The purchase price was about $632 per BTC, for a total cost of approximately $18.7 million. The peak value of this batch of BTC was approximately $3.74 billion, and its current value is about $1.82 billion.
