Australia Enforces Zero-Threshold Crypto Travel Rule on July 1

Australia’s crypto Travel Rule takes effect July 1, requiring regulated exchanges to attach sender and recipient identity details to all transfers with no minimum threshold. AUSTRAC enforces the measure as the final phase of an AML/CTF overhaul passed in November 2024. The same day is also the EU’s MiCA transition deadline, while AUSTRAC has deferred formal reporting on unverified self-hosted wallets until March 2029.
