Abstract generation in progress
Jinse Finance reports that U.S. President Donald Trump stated that indirect talks between the U.S. and Iran have made progress. At present, both countries are trying to move past the shadow of last week's retaliatory strikes against each other and turn the temporary ceasefire into lasting peace. Trump's son-in-law Jared Kushner and envoy Steve Witkoff traveled to Qatar on Tuesday to hold technical discussions on a preliminary agreement. The agreement sets a 60-day negotiation period for Washington and Tehran. AFP quoted an unnamed diplomat as saying that talks are scheduled to continue on Wednesday, but Kushner and Witkoff will not participate. Trump said: "Their talks are going very smoothly, and we'll see what happens next. As you know, we hit them very hard for three consecutive nights, but we are in a good position now, so I call it denuclearization, and it's all moving forward." However, he did not specify what breakthroughs, if any, have been achieved. When asked about the report on Wednesday, Trump said: "Well, I think they have made significant progress. We hit them very hard last week. I think they are fine now. It's very simple: Iran cannot have a nuclear weapon."
